Horse Brass Jenny Jones Wales Welsh Horseshoe Edwardian 1910s Welsh Witch
SKU: 3384-063
This vintage English horse brass or pub brass depicts what is variously called a Welsh witch, Welsh woman or Jenny Jones, a generic Welsh name, in a horseshoe.
This brass was made in the Edwardian era, 1910s for the burgeoning tourist trade and is in very good +++ used vintage condition, and very well made.
Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses and are very collectible.
In England you see them decorating the beams in pubs or hung by the fireplace in homes, or used as Christmas tree ornaments.
