Imari Luncheon Plate 9 Inch Colclough England Swags Gold Antique 1890s Colclough
SKU: 1012-124
This is a great antique 9 inch luncheon plate in the imari style using cobalt, rust and green hand colored on sepia transfers of floral and geometric lozenges and floral swags with gold trim so popular in the Victorian era during the fad for all things Japanese.
This particular luncheon plate measures 9 inches in diameter and was made by Colclough, England and dates from 1893-1908.
The plate is only marked England with the pattern number 981 but is definitely Colclough as I have handled quite a bit of the early production of 981 that starts to be marked in 1908.
The imari salad plate is in very good +++ used vintage condition with the gold still bright although showing a bit of minor wear, mild crazing and occasional tiny glaze chip on the rim which happens often for this age and type of porcelain. I have a dinner plate and salad plates currently in this pattern.
