This is an antique lace making bobbin of hand turned wood, mahogany or treen with antique glass beads made in Bedfordshire, England in the East Midlands style during the mid Victorian era of 1850-1870s.
The hand made lace making bobbin for also called pillow lace making measures 5.5 inches long and has a faceted amber glass bead, 2 cobalt blue glass beads, a dark amber glass bead and a pearl bead.
The beads are old and the bobbin is beautifully turned.
A wonderful antique needleworking notion. Lovely!
