Large Blue Transferware Platter Blue Floral Trentham Ironstone 1890s Floral
This is a large dark blue transferware or transfer ware platter made between 1892 and 1905 by J.H. Weatherby and Sons, Hanley, Staffordshire England in the pattern called Trentham.
The large oval ironstone serving platter measures 11 inch by 8 inch and is marked semi porcelain.The platter is molded and has a gilt rim with a pretty pattern of blue flowers.
The platter is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks, but there are a couple of mineral dust particles visible due to impurities in the clay, or dust in the kiln during firing, which is frequently seen in this era.
