This square Buckingham Palace plate or dish was designed in the 1930s for Royal Staffordshire A.J. Wilkinson potteries, England during the time that Clarice Cliff was art director.

The black transferware plate is artist signed with the initials AGH or HGH and measures 10.5 inches wide by 8.5 inches high.

The ironstone plate is in a shape called The Biarritz that is closely associated with Clarice Cliff. 

The square plate is an artist's rendering of the lake at the back of Buckingham Palace and is titled Buckingham Palace with gold trim.

It has the British Registry date for 1934. The plate is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks or gold wear and only minor normal age related crazing.

A neat piece from a very collectible pottery.
