Queen Victoria Death Of Albert 1861 Memorial Pair Of Brass Dishes Mourning

This is a pair of rare 1861 mourning or memorial repousse brass dishes made as a memorial on the death of Prince Albert, beloved husband of Queen Victoria of England.
Each of the brass dishes measures each .5 inch high by 3.5 inches in diameter and could have been used as ashtrays or just ornaments.They could also function as ring holders.
The head of a middle aged Queen Victoria is on one with the phrase Her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Victoria which is in excellent condition with just a mild dent to a rim.
The other has a crown and funeral wreath with the words Born Aug. 20, 1819, Married Feb. 10, 1840 Died Dec. 14, 1861.
Queen Victoria remained in mourning for Prince Albert until her death in 1901. This dish has several rim dents and tiny base rim dents.
