Sairey Gamp Dickens Pink Luster Ashtray Lancaster 1940s Trinket Dickensware
This is a Dickens ware ashtray in purple luster made by Lancaster and Sons, England 1938-1944 featuring a design titled Sairey Gamp Entertains Betsy Prig.
The ashtray measures .75 inches high by 4 inches square and is in excellent used vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is a bit of crazing which is normal in these pieces.
What is especially nice is the purple and copper luster finish.
Ashtrays are being used as small decorative dishes now for all sorts of things from tea bags to rings to paper clips.
