This is a Shelley China, England art pottery vase made by in a transitional art nouveau to the art deco style.
This lovely vase is pattern 8251 named Carnations on a black base.
The stylish vase was made 1918-1925.
The art art nouveau to deco vase has a stencil style pink carnation and geometric deco designs on a black background.
The vase measures 3.85 inches high by 3.5 in diameter and is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and only 3 tiny black paint flecks missing.
We have 2 in the same pattern, and this is the slightly larger version.
A wonderfully decorative and evocative piece.
