This is a late Victorian era Wedgwood, England 1870-1891 antique jasper or jasperware dip biscuit barrel in dark blue with a glazed white interior.
The biscuit or cookie jar measures 6 inches high by 5 inches in diameter and has silver plate EPNS fittings, lid, bottom frame and 3 bun feet.
The biscuit jar or barrel has the applied white jasper classical motif of Sacrifice Figures by Elizabeth Templetown and is impressed WEDGWOOD on the bottom.
The biscuit barrel or cookie jar is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The only flaw is in tiny spot on the lid that is corroded or discolored, and some further discoloring on the top edge of the silver base.
It is a fabulous antique late Victorian piece of typical Wedgwood superior workmanship.
