This commemorative cup or beaker was created for the coronation in 1953 of Queen Elizabeth II by Nelson Ware, England, part of the BCM or British Ceramics Manufacturers group of individual potters who banded together to share designs for the coronation.
The has a sepia profile of the queen in a colored frame like a brooch with a crown and dedication and the reverse features a red shield and the White Horse Of Kent, and the shire motto Invicta, or undefeated by William the Conqueror in 1066.
The cup measures 4.15 inches high by 3 inches in diameter and is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips, cracks or restorations but there are a few tiny bits of kiln dust or mineral impurities on the inside, and very minor normal crazing due to age and material..
