This is a wonderful antique victorian Wedgwood, England dark blue jasper or jasper dip spill vase with a silver rim.

The spill vase, which stood on the fireplace mantle was used to hold rolled strips of paper called spills which were used to light fires and tobacco items, measures 6 inches high by 2.5 inches high at top dates by the marks to 1870-1891.

The tall cylindrical spill vase has an applied silver plated rim marked E.P.N.S.

The designs are the patrons of the arts Erato for writers and Euterpe for the dance. The spill vase is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and is gorgeous.
